I didn’t go to design school—I went through life.

I grew up in a small house called 1014. It wasn’t fancy. The paint peeled, the floors creaked, and things often needed fixing. But it was full of something deeper: love, discipline, and strength.

That house gave me roots.
But years later, I found myself in a different kind of home—infested with rats, surrounded by crime, and filled with silence that nearly killed me.

I hit a low I didn’t think I’d come back from.
I was depressed. Suicidal. Done.

And then—a wellness coach saved my life.

They listened. They saw me. And in one conversation, they reminded me I still mattered. That moment shifted everything.

Soon after, I found a busted computer tossed out at the job I was barely holding onto. I took it home, rebuilt it, and started teaching myself everything I could about design.

I worked 8 hours on the clock and 10 more at home—grinding, learning, healing.

That’s how I found my way back.

I launched my first business as Kendricks Graphic Designs.
But after losing my father—the man who raised me in that little house—I knew it was time to create something bigger. Something that honored both him and the foundation that built me.

That’s why I created 1014 Designs—named after the house I was raised in.

Now, I use the skills I fought hard to learn—logo design, branding, web design, and AI strategy—to help wellness coaches, therapists, and purpose-driven brands tell their story, attract aligned clients, and build lasting impact.
